Industrial Design:

Interactive Lighting

The focus of this lighting project was to create an interactive object where the user could change the light output characteristics by changing the physical form of the sculpture.
The fixture is intended as mood lighting, and is made from a solid block of wood.

The four corners can be peeled down to let more light out, or closed up for less light. Light appears to leak out of the fixture like lava, having an immediate effect on the ambiance of any space.

The fixture works well on a side table or shelf for mood lighting.

There is a diffuser on the inside of the fixture so that the light bulb can not be seen directly.
